James Gates, MBA

James Gates, MBA, has extensive work experience in various finance and management roles. James started their career at MAG IAS, LLC, where they served as a Credit Collections Supervisor from 1994 to 2001 and later as a Credit Manager/ Human Resources Supervisor from 2001 to 2009.

In 2009, they joined Account Control Technology, Inc. as a Controller and later became the Corporate Controller/ Director of Shared Services/ Interim HR director from 2015 to 2019. During their time at Account Control Technology, Inc., James was responsible for managing the payroll department, overseeing corporate accounting transactions, and providing HR support. James also led various projects, including the implementation of a global HCM platform and system conversion to Oracle ERP.

Since 2019, James has served as the EVP Finance at Puffco.

James Gates, MBA has a strong education history focused on finance and business administration. James earned their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Finance from California State University, Northridge in 2019. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the same institution in 2007. James began their educational journey at Los Angeles Pierce College, where they obtained an Associates in Arts degree in Liberal Arts from 2001 to 2005. Their foundation in business studies dates back to their time at Granada Hills High School, where they earned a diploma in Business Administration and Management, General from 1991 to 1994.
