Svetlana Romanova started their work experience in 2005 as a Reporter at the Agency of Social Information. Svetlana then worked as a Reporter at Slon.ru from 2010 to 2016. In 2015, they joined Vedomosti as a Staff Reporter, focusing on start-ups and small business models. In 2016, they transitioned to RosBusinessConsulting, where they first worked as a Reporter, writing features on Russian small businesses. Svetlana also served as a TV Producer, Reporter, and Anchor, producing feature segments on business and economy for a prime time analytical show and launching a show about Russian startups. In 2017, Romanova joined Ideanomics.ru as a Journalist, and recently in 2022, they became the Business Development Manager at PulsProject.

Svetlana Romanova obtained a Master's degree in Journalism from Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) from 2003 to 2009. In 2020-2021, they studied the German language at Inlingua Sprachcenter Berlin GmbH and obtained a Sprachniveau C1 (Gemeinsamen europäischen Referenzrahmen für Sprachen) certification. Furthermore, they acquired a Telc C1 certification from telc GmbH - The European Language Certificates in September 2022.
