Hafiz Muhammad Tayyab Bhatti is an experienced professional in the field of GIS and space science with a career spanning multiple notable positions. Currently serving as Assistant Director Space Science at the Punjab Irrigation Department since August 2021, Hafiz implements daily monitoring of transboundary precipitation and leverages GIS technology for flood risk assessment and disaster management. Prior roles include Research Associate GIS at The Urban Unit, where Hafiz contributed to socio-economic development projects, and positions focused on GIS digitization and geodatabase development for National Highway Authority and road network mapping in Pakistan. Hafiz holds an MPhil in Space Science with a specialization in Remote Sensing and GIS from the University of the Punjab, complemented by a short course in Climate Change from the University of Oxford.
