Karen McCarthy

Karen McCarthy currently serves as Associate General Counsel and Head of Corporate Law at Purdue Pharma L.P., a position held since March 2019. Prior to this role, McCarthy was Associate General Counsel and Vice President at Blue Buffalo Company from February 2013 to September 2018, where involvement included legal oversight during the company's acquisition by General Mills for approximately $8 billion. Earlier in career, McCarthy worked as Counsel at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP from March 1998 to February 2013, providing a wide range of corporate legal advice to various public and private entities. McCarthy began professional journey as an Associate at Donovan Leisure Newton & Irvine from 1993 to 1998. Academic credentials include a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center and an AB in Political Science and Finance from Syracuse University.
