Position Summary:
The Azure Solutions Engineer applies unique platform knowledge of Azure to assist Purely Cloud’s partners and internal teams with Azure technical inquiries. They serve the Professional Services, Academy, and Sales teams within the Purely Cloud organization and will serve as a technical subject matter expert both internally and externally to assist with assessing viability and architecting infrastructure solutions within Microsoft Azure. The Engineer also serves partners in an educational capacity, delivering Purely Cloud Academy instructor led and asynchronous training content.
Essential Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):
Serves as the technical subject matter expert on pre- and post-sale Azure infrastructure opportunities.
Provides partner education; creates content and delivers technical deep-dive sessions for our partners by working closely with our internal and external Azure and Microsoft teams, and with our engineering team; ensures information is up to date and readily available for new and existing team members and partners Serves as point of escalation for technical issues for our Infrastructure solutions consulting team; takes part regularly in deep-dive educational sessions, or architecting and designing cloud-based solutions in response to different complex technical challenges encountered by our partners.
Advises and influences team processes and structure; assists with the change management approval process, new product/services development and creates supporting documentation.
Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:
At least three (3) to five (5) years of systems engineering experience or consultancy experience with Microsoft Azure At least three (3) years of experience with digital transformation and cloud infrastructure migration/architecture initiatives Prior experience and/or understanding of professional services and service delivery related to Azure Broad knowledge of Azure capabilities including compute, storage, networking, and platform services Hands-on experience with Data Center infrastructure/application migration, consolidation, or transformation projects Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to defuse situations where partners and/or customers may be frustrated Ability to solve problems quickly, develop workflows and processes for operation team, and automate processes Ability to consult with both technical professionals and business stakeholders Willingness to develop technical skills outside of normal working hours Desire to validate skillset through industry wide certifications Required Education & Certifications:
B.A./B.S. in related field or equivalent work experience Azure Solution Architect Expert or ability to obtain within six (6) months of start date Other certification requirements may arise during course of employment to meet Microsoft Partner Program requirements Compensation:
