Jelena Djordjevic Ph.D.

Jelena Djordjevic has a diverse and extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Jelena is currently serving as the Senior Director of Drug Product Development and Manufacturing at PureTech Health since May 2022.

Prior to joining PureTech Health, Jelena held the position of Director of Pharmaceutical Development at Upsher-Smith Laboratories, LLC from July 2018 to March 2022. In this role, they reported to the Chief Scientific Officer and oversaw the end-to-end development of various dosage forms, mentored a team of professionals, and ensured alignment with corporate objectives.

Before their tenure at Upsher-Smith Laboratories, Jelena worked as the Director of Product Development at Teva Pharmaceuticals from May 2017 to June 2018. Jelena led a cross-functional team in the development and manufacturing of solid oral dosage forms while collaborating with global stakeholders.

From February 2016 to May 2017, Jelena served as the Senior Director at Kashiv Pharma LLC, leading interdisciplinary teams in pre-formulation, formulation development, process development, and technology transfers. Jelena managed the manufacturing of various dosage forms and provided guidance in drafting important documentation.

Prior to their role at Kashiv Pharma LLC, Jelena held positions at Teva Pharmaceuticals as a Senior Scientist from October 2008 to April 2011, and at Fleet Laboratories as a Senior Scientist from May 2006 to October 2008.

Jelena Djordjevic holds a PhD in Pharmaceutics from Rutgers University, which they obtained from 2001 to 2005. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Technology from the University of Belgrade - Faculty of Pharmacy from 1998 to 2001, and a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from the same institution from 1991 to 1997. In addition to their educational background, Jelena has acquired additional certifications, including a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB) from Purdue University in 2020, Lean Principles from Purdue University in 2019, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from Purdue University in 2019, and a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate from the Project Management Institute in 2019.
