Leonard Smith has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Leonard currently holds the position of Vice President Methodologies at Puro.earth, a CO2 Removal Marketplace. Prior to this, Leonard worked at Deloitte as a Senior Manager, where they managed interdisciplinary and international teams, focused on innovative digital solution design, local content development fund structuring, and senior stakeholder management. Leonard also served as a Manager at Deloitte, managing and communicating risk related to natural resource, energy, and sustainability vulnerabilities. Leonard's previous experience includes working as an Economics Tutor at King's College, UQ, where they taught and mentored students in microeconomics, macroeconomics, international economics, and statistics. Leonard also worked as an Independent Professional at Resource Headquarters, providing bespoke advisory services and conducting research on the Solomon Islands' development agenda, water pricing, and renewable electricity economics. Before that, Leonard worked at The University of Queensland as a PhD Student and Energy Market Analyst, focusing on understanding the impact of new natural resources on sustainable economic and social outcomes. Leonard Smith has a strong educational background in economics and natural resource management. Leonard obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Sustainable Development from The University of Queensland in 2009. Leonard then pursued a Master's Degree in Economics (Natural Resources) at the same university from 2009 to 2012. Leonard furthered their education by earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Natural Resource Economics from The University of Queensland from 2014 to 2017. Leonard also completed a second PhD in Research Methodology and Quantitative Methods at the School of Economics and Business, Norwegian University of Life Sciences from 2016 to 2017. Leonard Smith holds the additional certification of Professional Scrum Master™ I (PSM I) from Scrum.org, obtained in 2020.
