Job Summary: We are seeking skilled fire alarm installers and technicians to join our team. In this role you will need to be familiar with the equipment, installation, and commissioning of low voltage systems and have at least journeyman level installation and troubleshooting experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In this role you will need to be familiar with the equipment, installation, and commissioning of low voltage systems and have at least journeyman level installation and troubleshooting experience, Installation of fire life safety and other low voltage systems in medium and large commercial buildings.

  • Technician shall have the ability to program or are experienced with programing low voltage systems including fire alarm systems.

  • Installations, service, and inspections of fire alarm systems within the greater bay area for new construction, tenant improvements and service.

  • Commissioning various fire alarm system types and manufacturers.

  • Train and supervise junior installers and technicians on assigned projects.

  • Resolve field problems through research of multiple alternatives.

  • Technician to meet with code officials to arrange for building permits, code issues and to discuss the intended wiring and installation methods being used.

  • Technician will coordinate the project activities with other trades at the work locations to optimize installation time.

  • Communicate and effectively interact with other contractors and building owners, sales team members, project managers and project coordinators.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.

  • Identify out of scope requests by the contractor or customer and notify management of pending changes or change orders.

  • Technician will assist customer on site with all questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

  • Effectively communicate project status to management.

  • Complete all appropriate company paperwork as required.

Qualifications:

  • Current California Fire/Life Safety Card.

  • Minimum 5 Years of experience in Fire Life Safety Industry.

  • Must be NICET certified.

  • OSHA-10 required prior to start date.

  • On-Call rotation.

  • Must have excellent communications skills, using tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers.

  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance.

  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing a ladder, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.

  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools as required and lifting to 75lbs.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, degree preferred.

  • Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.

  • Pass a pre-employment background check.

  • Climbing – Frequently (3-6 hours/daily)

  • Kneeling - Frequently (3-6 hours/daily)

  • Crawling – Occasionally (0-3 hours/daily)

  • Twisting (Neck and Waist) – Occasionally (0-3 hours/daily)

  • Grasping (crimping) – Constantly (6-8 hours/daily)

  • Lifting 0-70lb – Frequently (3-6 hours/daily)

  • Carrying 0-70lb – Frequently (3-6 hours/daily)
