Jocelyn Doucet

Jocelyn Doucet has an extensive work experience spanning several industries. Jocelyn is the Founder and CEO of Pyrowave, a company at the forefront of the electrification of chemistry at an industrial scale. Jocelyn successfully raised capital through government grants, private equity, institutional debt, and strategic investors. Jocelyn built a strong team of technology, finance, and business development experts to scale operations from lab to market.

Prior to Pyrowave, Jocelyn worked as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal. Jocelyn contributed to research in the field of waste and biomass conversion into energy and developed a new course on unit operations in food engineering.

Jocelyn also held the position of R&D and Engineering Manager at Kengtek Engineering Services Inc, where they oversaw the rework of extraction processes and supervised R&D for the development of new multiphase fluidized bed extractors. Jocelyn also led the development of a fluorine extraction process for purified protein extracts.

Earlier in their career, Jocelyn worked as a Student Engineer at Kraft Foods, where they were involved in the engineering of new fermentation processes and the pre-engineering study of spray dryer renovations.

Throughout their career, Jocelyn Doucet has demonstrated their expertise in technology, research, and business development, and their ability to lead teams and successfully bring projects from concept to fruition.

Jocelyn Doucet's education history includes a variety of degrees and certifications. In 1998, Jocelyn obtained a DEC in Science de la santé from College Edouard Montpetit. In 2000, Jocelyn earned a B. Ing. in Chemical Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal. Following this, Jocelyn pursued a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal, completing the degree in 2008. In 2021, Jocelyn attended the Institute of Corporate Directors and completed the ICD-Rotman Directors Education Program, focusing on Governance. In terms of additional certifications, Jocelyn obtained the ICD.D from the Institute of Corporate Directors in February 2022. Furthermore, Jocelyn received the Ingénieur/Engineer (Eng.) certification from the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec in December 2009. Jocelyn also has several Professional Engineer certifications, including ones from the Wisconsin Board of Professional Engineers, Architects and Surveyors in October 2012, the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan in February 2010, and the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta in July 2010.
