Nik Cimino has had an extensive work experience at Xilinx, Inc., starting from 2007. Nik held various roles such as Applications Engineer, Verification Engineer, Senior Software Engineer II, and Staff Software Engineer. In these roles, they worked on various technology projects, such as Vivado, SDAccel, and Partial Reconfiguration. Nik has achieved the highest level of certification for designing a RISC microprocessor from scratch using an FPGA. Nik worked on a componentized system using Docker, Docker Compose, Gradle, custom Gradle plugins, and other technologies, which modularized a monolithic GNU makefile build system. Nik worked on the integration of Vivado with IDEs like IDEA, Eclipse, and VS Code. Additionally, they led the GUI verification of Vivado for two years and authored the Timing and Migration sections of the Partial Reconfiguration (PR) User Guide. In January 2022, they joined the PyxelChain Technology Corporation as the Chief Technology Officer.
Nik Cimino attended Arvada West High School from 1996 to 2000 and graduated with a High School diploma. From 2002 to 2004, they attended Red Rocks Community College but did not obtain a degree or field of study. In 2004, Nik enrolled at the Colorado School of Mines, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with an electrical specialty in 2006.
