Ashish Kakkar

Ashish Kakkar is a Senior Scientist at Q-CTRL since August 2022, specializing in the field of quantum error mitigation, having previously served as a Research Intern at IonQ for a brief period in 2022. Kakkar completed a PhD at the University of Kentucky focusing on quantum error correcting codes under the supervision of Prof. Anatoly Dymarsky from August 2016 to August 2022, in addition to functioning as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. Notable research experience includes participation in the Givens Associates Programme at Argonne National Laboratory, where Kakkar investigated error mitigation strategies for the Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm (QAOA). Educational qualifications encompass a dual degree (BS-MS) in Physics and Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune, and a PhD in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from the University of Kentucky.
