Jonathan Perkel

General Counsel at Qapital

Jonathan Perkel is the current General Counsel at Qapital. Jonathan has previously held the position of SVP & General Counsel at Fareportal from August 2014 to April 2019. In this role, they built the global legal department for the operator of travel sites CheapOair and OneTravel (over $4 billion in gross annual travel bookings). Lead a team of five legal professionals overseeing matters for the U.S., Canada, Mexico, India and U.K. offices. Prior to this, they were the SVP & General Counsel at Travelocity from January 2002 to December 2014. In this role, they directed all legal affairs for the Travelocity Global division of Sabre (which included Travelocity in North America, lastminute.com in Europe and Zuji in Asia) from 2008. Led a legal team of 12 in Dallas, London, and Singapore. Before that, they were the VP & General Counsel at Site59.com from January 2001 to December 2002. In this role, they were the first in-house counsel for this travel technology and content start-up incubated by BCG, General Atlantic Partners and Goldman Sachs. The company was acquired by Travelocity in 2002. Jonathan started their career as a Senior Associate at Morrison & Foerster LLP from January 1999 to December 2001 and then as an Associate at Salans from January 1997 to December 1999.

Jonathan Perkel attended the University of Pennsylvania for their undergraduate degree and then went on to the University of Virginia School of Law for their law degree.
