Gerard Yap Cia

Gerard Yap, a certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and Certified Public Accountant (CPA), currently serves as the Internal Audit Manager for Qatar Chemical Company since November 2020, after being seconded from QatarEnergy. In this role, Gerard leads a comprehensive transformation of the Internal Audit function, introducing a globally recognized methodology that complies with the Institute of Internal Auditors' standards. Previously, Gerard held the Internal Audit Manager position at Muntajat and advanced through various roles at Ernst & Young, providing expertise in Internal Audit, Risk Management, and Governance across numerous high-profile clients. Gerard's extensive career includes managerial functions in governance and risk assurance at Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation and earlier experiences in finance and operations. Gerard holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Accountancy from the University of the Philippines.
