Dr. Gonzalo Araujo

Postdoctoral Associate Researcher at Qatar University

Dr. Gonzalo Araujo is a Postdoctoral Associate Researcher at Qatar University since May 2022. In addition to this role, Dr. Araujo is active as a Consultant across government, media, academia, environmental, and third sectors since November 2020 and serves as the Founder and Director of the Marine Research and Conservation Foundation. Dr. Araujo is also a member of the IUCN SSC Shark Specialist Group and previously held the position of Executive Director and Principal Investigator at the Large Marine Vertebrates Research Institute Philippines until November 2020. Dr. Araujo's academic background includes current studies for a Doctor of Philosophy in Shark Ecology at the University of Portsmouth, completion of the Blue Pioneers Accelerator Program at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and past educational achievements including a Fellowship in Conservation Leadership and degrees in Management Science and Operational Research and Biotechnology.
