Samir Jaoua

Samir Jaoua, PhD, is a Full Professor of Microbiology and Molecular and Microbial Biotechnology at Qatar University, where involvement spans from September 2009 to the present. In addition to this role, Samir Jaoua serves as the Professor and Program Coordinator for the Master of Science in Environmental Science. Previously, Samir Jaoua took on the position of Head of the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences at Qatar University College of Arts & Sciences from September 2012 to August 2014. The academic journey includes roles as Professor and Associate Professor at the Université de Sfax - University of Sfax from January 1992 to November 2009, and a brief tenure as Associate Professor at Ghent University in 1995. Earlier experience includes postdoctoral research at Ciba-Geigy Novartis and GBF Braunschweig University, as well as an Assistant Professor position at the Université de Rouen. Educational qualifications include a Docteur-Ingenieur in Microbiology from Université de Technologie de Compiègne, along with a MSc in Microbiology and an engineering degree in Biology Engineering from the same institution and the University of Sfax.
