Duane Janneker

Duane Janneker is an experienced marine professional currently serving as a Marine Pilot at QatarEnergy since September 2023. Prior to this role, Duane held various positions at Grindrod Shipping Holdings Ltd from January 2018 to September 2023, including Chief Navigating Officer and 2nd mate. From January 2004 to February 2017, Duane was a Harbour Pilot at the Port of Saldanha and also worked as a Tugmaster, focusing on master port operations at Transnet National Ports Authority. Earlier in the career, Duane served as a Deck Officer at Safmarine from 1999 to 2001. Educationally, Duane obtained a National Diploma in Maritime Studies from Cape Peninsula University of Technology in 2018 and attended Natal Technikon.
