Chan Hee Son

Chan Hee Son has a diverse work experience in the renewable energy industry. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Offshore Wind Technology at Q ENERGY since April 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Ørsted as a Technical Project Manager from September 2021 to March 2023. Chan Hee also has experience from Enel Green Power as a Wind Project Engineer from September 2020 to September 2021. From August 2016 to August 2020, they worked as a Senior Research Engineer at UNISON Co., Ltd. Before that, they held various managerial positions at Wind Energy TF/ Samsung Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. from May 2015 to July 2016. Earlier in their career, they gained experience as an Intern/R&D at General Motors from May 2003 to August 2005.

Chan Hee Son has a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which was obtained between 2002 and 2009. Prior to that, between 2000 and 2002, Son completed a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at Wayne State University. Son's undergraduate studies were conducted at Yonsei University, where a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering was obtained from 1997 to 2000. Additionally, Son briefly studied Geology at Korea University from 1993 to 1994, but did not obtain a degree in that field.
