Angela Simeone

Angela Simeone is an accomplished bioinformatics professional with extensive experience in both academic and industry settings. Currently serving as Associate Director of Bioinformatics at QIAGEN since July 2022, previous roles included Senior Manager and Scientific Expert in the same field. Angela's prior experience includes a Senior Research Associate position at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute, contributing to Sir Shankar Balasubramanian's lab, and a Research Associate role at the University of Cambridge's Gurdon Institute under Nobel Laureate Sir John Gurdon. Early career work at BIOTEC - TU Dresden involved algorithm development for high-throughput screening data and multi-parametric data analysis. Angela holds a Ph.D. in Biomathematics, Bioinformatics, and Computational Biology from Technische Universität Dresden, as well as master's and bachelor's degrees in Biomedical/Medical Engineering and Bioengineering from Università di Pavia, respectively.
