Mike Rakes

Mike Rakes has extensive experience in the laboratory instrument and equipment maintenance field, currently serving as a Global Product Support Specialist at QIAGEN since 2002, where responsibilities have included installing, servicing, and maintaining approximately 40 laboratory production instruments and designing custom devices. Prior to this, Mike Rakes worked for Life Technologies for a decade, progressing from an Engineering Assistant, where support was provided in designing and building prototype laboratory devices, to an Assembler, responsible for final assembly and inspection of laboratory instruments. Mike Rakes began a career in assembly at teklite / multispec, focusing on aircraft lighting for the US military. Educational background includes studies at Frederick Community College from 1993 to 1994.
