Peter Nearhos

Peter Nearhos has over 15 years of experience in tax management and consulting. Peter began their career as a Consultant at PwC in 2003 and worked their way up to Senior Manager before leaving in 2010. From 2010 to 2015, Nearhos worked at Aurizon as an Advisory Tax Manager and later as the Group Tax Manager. Since 2015, they have been working at QIC, first as the Tax Counsel / VP Taxation and currently as the Head of Tax.

Peter Nearhos began their education in 1998 by pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Accounting at The University of Queensland. Peter completed this degree in 2000. In the same year, Nearhos also started their Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at The University of Queensland, which they finished in 2002. In 2003, they enrolled in the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand program, earning the CA qualification in 2005. Nearhos then furthered their education by completing a Master of Laws (LLM) in Taxation at the University of Melbourne, from 2006 to 2014.
