Richard Murphy

Head of Product Design at QikServe

Richard Murphy has a diverse work experience. Richard served as the Head of Product Design at QikServe, where they re-established the design function and oversaw various aspects of digital ordering. Prior to that, they worked as a Consultant, using design thinking and training to provide services such as start-up guidance, product consultations, and workshops on accessibility. Richard also founded Quarters, a network of kiosks, and The Brotique, a men's department store specializing in grooming and gifts. In addition, they founded Tiger Forest Ltd, a boutique design agency focused on commercial design, and worked as a Digital Designer at Insomnia Publications, collaborating with partners such as Marvel and Sony.

Richard Murphy has a diverse education history. In 2006, they attended the University of Dundee, where they studied Innovative Product Design. The following year, they enrolled at Edinburgh Napier University for a program in Design Futures. In 2008, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Furniture and Product Design at Edinburgh College of Art, which they completed in 2010. Continuing their education, Richard attended the University of the Arts London in 2012, studying Luxury Brand Management. Most recently, in 2019, they enrolled at The University of Edinburgh for an MSc in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, specializing in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies.
