Gordon McGurk

Gordon McGurk currently serves as the General Manager of Research Governance and Funding at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute since March 2022 and has been a Health Consultant at OmniAdvisory Consulting since July 2017. McGurk is also a Board Member of the Mental Awareness Foundation and serves as Chair of the Human Research Ethics Committee at the University of Queensland. Additionally, McGurk holds the position of Chair for the Australian Standards Committee on Safety in Laboratories since 2010 and has previously been a Board Member for the Medical Board of Australia: Queensland Board. With extensive experience in research integrity and governance, McGurk was formerly the Director of Clinical Trials at the National Health and Medical Research Council from 2007 to 2017. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Genetics and Molecular Biology from The University of Edinburgh, a Juris Doctor from the University of Southern Queensland, and various certifications in governance from the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Governance Institute of Australia.
