Jonathan Darbro

Jonathan Darbro is an experienced Advanced Medical Entomologist at Queensland Health since October 2017 and a Research Officer at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research since April 2008. With a strong background in mosquito control and public health, Jonathan serves as a liaison between research and local and state stakeholders, often briefing senior stakeholders on complex medical entomology issues. Prior experience includes a role as a Postdoctoral Researcher at CSIRO, where Jonathan investigated alternative dengue mosquito control methods using entomopathogenic fungi. Jonathan holds a PhD in Entomology from Cornell University, a Master of Science in Entomology from the University of California, Riverside, and a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from the University of Chicago.
