Saroja Weeratunga

Saroja Weeratunga is a seasoned researcher with extensive experience in the field of bioanalytical chemistry. Since May 2015, Saroja has held the position of Research Officer at The University of Queensland while simultaneously serving as a Research Scientist at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute since February 2013. Previous roles include Postdoctoral Researcher at Griffith University from May 2011 to February 2013, and Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at The University of Kansas from August 2005 to February 2011. Saroja began an academic career as an Assistant Lecturer and Laboratory Demonstrator at the University of Peradeniya from April 2003 to May 2005. Saroja earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Bio Analytical Chemistry from The University of Kansas between 2005 and 2011 and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from the University of Peradeniya, obtained in 2003. Saroja's foundational education was completed at Sirimavo Bandaranayaka Vidyalaya in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
