Simon Wilcox has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Simon started their career in 1991 with the UK Government, where they worked as an Engineering Technician and Software Engineer, gaining expertise in electronics engineering, satellite communications, computer networks, and software engineering. In 2000, Simon joined Categoric Software as a Senior Software Engineer, leading the development of modules in C++ and Java. Simon then worked at Detica PLC, where they held various positions, including Service Delivery Manager and Account Manager. Simon joined BAE Systems Applied Intelligence in 2009, serving as the Director of International Business Development and later as the Head of Commercial Law Enforcement and Data Retention. Simon was responsible for creating market-facing propositions and leading the expansion of the law enforcement business unit. In 2020, Simon co-founded Wilbucks Ltd and also worked at SecureCloud+ as the Head of Product Strategy and a Strategy Consultant. Currently, Simon is the Data Intelligence Business Development Lead at QinetiQ, where they focus on developing customer propositions and promoting digital transformation in the defense and security sector.
Simon Wilcox attended the University of Plymouth from 1996 to 2000, where they obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Computer Systems and Networks, specializing in Computer Science. In 2000, they also obtained the certification of MBCS from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.
