Michael Hampel

Head of Operations at Planet A Foods (formerly QOA)

Michael Hampel has held multiple roles throughout their work experience. Michael started their career at Evonik in 2010 as a Lab Specialist in Fermentation. Michael then worked at AMINO GmbH as a Project Responsible briefly before returning to Evonik as a Bioprocess Engineer. At Evonik, they took on various roles, including Technology Transfer Responsible and Start-Up Responsible for Fermentation in a World Scale Plant. In 2018, they joined Veramaris as a Start-Up Manager for fermentation Omega-3-fatty acid production and later became a Technology Manager for Omega-3-fatty acids commercial production plant. In 2021, Michael Hampel joined Evonik again as the Head of Innovation in Efficient Nutrition. Most recently, in 2022, they joined Planet A Foods first as the Head of Fats & Oils and then as the Head of Operations.

Michael Hampel completed their education as follows:

From 2021 to 2022, they attended the Quantic School of Business and Technology, where they pursued an Executive MBA degree in Business Administration, Management and Operations. Prior to that, from 2007 to 2012, they studied at Universität Bielefeld, earning both a Bachelor and Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Molecular Biotechnology. Before their university studies, from 2004 to 2007, Michael Hampel attended Rosenhöhe Bielefeld, where they obtained a Facharbeiter degree as a skilled chemical worker (Chemikant).
