Joel Benavides is an accomplished legal and privacy professional with extensive experience in global strategy, legal affairs, and data privacy. Currently serving as a Global Strategy Advisor at Qtis AI since June 2022, Joel focuses on pioneering innovations in medical and consumer products through advanced Generative AI. As a Charter Member of TechGC, Joel actively engages with peers in the legal community to share best practices. With a background that includes roles such as Co-chair of the Enterprise Cloud Privacy Group and Head of Privacy at Next Insurance, Joel has developed a strong expertise in data protection and legal management. Previous positions at Redis Labs, Box.com, NEURAL Corporation, VMware, and Siebel Systems further highlight Joel's leadership in commercial legal practices and strategic advisory roles. Joel holds a BA in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, a JD from the University of California, Los Angeles - School of Law, and a certification in AI Strategy from MIT Sloan School of Management.
