Oliver Charity

Oliver Charity is a Viromics Research Scientist at Quadram Institute since December 2021, with previous experience as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at Imperial College London. Oliver's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Microbiological Genetics, Genomics, and Molecular Biology from the University of East Anglia and a Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Biology/Microbiology from the University of Leicester. Notable research includes studying genomic evolution and resistance mechanisms in Salmonella enterica, developing gastrointestinal microbiome services at NKAARCO Diagnostics, and characterizing integrative and conjugative elements in Campylobacter spp. Experience also includes roles as a Microbiology Technician at 2 Sisters Food Group and internships focused on pathogenic bacteria at the University of Leicester.
