Debasmit Das

Debasmit (Buna) Das currently works at Qualcomm as a Staff Researcher, contributing to the AI research group with a focus on personalization, data-efficiency, and scene understanding solutions for extended reality (XR), biometrics, and automotive applications since June 2020. Previously, from August 2014 to April 2020, Debasmit served as a Senior Researcher and Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at Purdue University under the guidance of Dr. C. Additionally, a summer research internship at Polytechnique Montréal involved the simulation of Surface Plasmon Resonance in MATLAB and the design, fabrication, and characterization of a 2x2 waveguide coupler. Debasmit holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University (2014-2020) and a Bachelor’s Degree with Distinction in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (2010-2014).
