Director Of Engineering at Qualus

Chris Salter has a strong background in engineering and has held various leadership roles throughout their career. Chris started at PowerSouth Energy Cooperative in 1997 as an Engineer and progressed to become a System Protection & Control Supervisor. In this role, they provided direction for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of the System Protection and Control facilities. Chris also provided engineering support for related projects. Chris later became the System Protection Superintendent, where they supervised the design of protective relaying schemes and completed studies related to the protection of transmission, distribution, and generation facilities. After that, they served as the Substation O&M Superintendent, overseeing the installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities of transmission and distribution assets. Chris assured reliable facilities and compliance with regulatory obligations. Chris then became the Transmission O&M Superintendent, where they managed maintenance and construction activities related to the Transmission O&M section, ensuring compliance and preventing unscheduled outages. Currently, Chris works as the Director of Engineering at Qualus.

Chris Salter attended The University of Alabama from 1990 to 1996, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
