Wes Mitchell, PMP, CFCM

Wes Mitchell, PMP, CFCM has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Wes started their career as a Consular Affairs Intern at the United States Department of State, where they supported the Fraud Prevention Unit and conducted interviews. Wes also worked as a Virtual Student Foreign Service Intern, originating and maintaining the American Citizens Newsletter distributed to Americans living in Zimbabwe.

Following this, Wes joined Grassroot Soccer as a Program Assistant, contributing to program operations. Wes then transitioned to Vocus as a Small Business Executive, advising small business clients on marketing platforms and conducting sales calls.

Wes's expertise in project management is evident in their roles at QualX Corporation. Wes first served as a Team Leader for the Navy Declassification Program, managing a team of analysts and ensuring high-quality declassification reviews. Wes then took on the role of Project Manager for the DHA Information Management Support project, overseeing executive assistants and collaborating with government clients to meet project requirements.

In their most recent role at QualX Corporation, Wes held multiple positions. Wes served as a Program Manager, providing oversight for mission support projects at various defense and veterans affairs agencies. As a Contracts Manager, they were responsible for contract administration, negotiations, and ensuring compliance with acquisition regulations. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Contracts & Procurement, where they lead the contracting and procurement functions for QualX Corporation.

Throughout their career, Wes has demonstrated strong leadership skills, expertise in contract management, and a focus on project success. Wes holds the certifications of Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Federal Contract Manager (CFCM), further showcasing their dedication to professional growth and excellence.

Wes Mitchell, PMP, CFCM, obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with minors in Africana Studies and Communication Studies from James Madison University. Wes attended the university from 2006 to 2010. Additionally, they have obtained the certifications of Certified Federal Contract Manager (CFCM) from the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) in October 2021 and Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in June 2017.
