Herman Esguerra

Principal Mechanical Design Engineer at Quanergy

Herman Esguerra has over 40 years of work experience in various mechanical engineering roles. Herman started their career at ITW in 1979 as a Mechanical Designer. Herman then worked at Dukane Corporation from 1984 to 1989 as an R&D Mechanical Engineer, where they designed and developed optical positioning robotic equipment. After that, they joined Harmonic Lightwaves, where they worked as a Mechanical Engineer from 1989 to 1998, designing optical video transport devices.

In 1998, Esguerra became a Senior opto/mechanical packaging engineer at Bandwidth9 Corporation, where they designed wide band optical transceivers. Herman then worked at Pedestal Networks as a Senior Mechanical Engineer from 2000 to 2003, leading the development of outside plant DSLAM transport equipment.

From 2003 to 2008, Esguerra worked at Finisar Corporation as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. Herman then joined Avago Technologies in 2008 as an R&D Mechanical Engineer, where they designed advanced telecommunications products and developed testing equipment for optical products.

Currently, Esguerra is employed at Quanergy Systems Inc. as a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer. Herman is involved in developing smart sensing solutions for real-time 3D mapping and object detection. Herman'swork also focuses on designing 3D LIDAR sensor systems for wide scale commercialization.

Herman Esguerra pursued their education in a chronological manner. From 1973 to 1976, they attended the University of Santo Tomas, where they earned an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Mechanical Engineering. Herman continued their studies at Adamson University from 1976 to 1978, graduating with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mining Engineering.
