Milya Davlieva

Vice President of Research and Development at Quantapore

Milya Davlieva has a wealth of experience in the field of research and development. Milya began their career in 2002 as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Houston Department of Chemistry, where they developed multi-step syntheses of air-sensitive compounds, studied reaction intermediates, and trained technicians and junior scientists. In 2004, they became a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Houston, and in 2006 they were a Research Associate at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Houston, where they set up a Next-Generation Sequencing lab and characterized complex microbiological content from samples of unknown origin. In 2018, they worked as a Life Sciences Consultant at Industrial Metagenomics, an Analytical Development Scientist II at Codexis, Inc., and a Director of Tier 1 Organic Chemistry Division at the City of Houston. Since 2019, they have been working at Quantapore Inc., where they have held the roles of Vice President of Research and Development, Sr. Director of MolBio and Chemistry, Director of MolBio and Chemistry, Lead of MolBio and Chemistry Department, and Principal Scientist. In these roles, they have collaborated and communicated across a diverse research team to successfully progress scientific goals, led, designed, analyzed, and implemented novel experiments for the proteomics/protein fingerprint projects, designed and conducted experiments in the field of nucleic acid research and sample preparation for NGS, led the design, synthesis, and testing of new compounds in support of key tech. dev., designed, analyzed, and characterized DNA handling enzymes in support of R&D technical objectives, and advanced departmental capabilities, internal and external, as needed.

Milya Davlieva holds a PhD in Chemical Sciences from Kazan State University, a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Kazan State University, and a Certificate in Leadership and Decision-Making in the Energy Industry from Rice University. Milya also holds academic credentials in Chemical Sciences from Global Credential Evaluation.
