Xiaoling Charlene Yang has extensive work experience in the field of engineering and scientific research. Xiaoling Charlene is currently a Principal Engineer in system integration at Quantum-Si since 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Senior Staff Engineer in System Design from 2016 to 2021, where they played a key role in developing next-generation sequencing technology and automating Ion Torrent Genexus workflow. Xiaoling Charlene also led the workflow integration team and focused on software integration testing and bug identification.
Before joining Thermo Fisher Scientific, Xiaoling worked at Life Technologies from 2013 to 2016 as a System Engineer III. Xiaoling Charlene then worked at 454 Life Sciences, a Roche company, as a Research Scientist from 2012 to 2013, where they contributed to the development of an ISFET DNA sequencing platform and worked on designing and implementing reference electrode assemblies and optimizing reagent delivery systems.
Prior to their industry roles, they worked as an Affiliated Senior Scientist at NPL Associates, Inc from 2010 to 2012. Xiaoling Charlene also held positions as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2010 to 2012, where they led a research group and received funding for the development of a Direct Liquid Fuel Cell and nuclear power sources.
Xiaoling began their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Georgia from 2004 to 2008, where they focused on the design and investigation of electrochemical biosensors. Xiaoling Charlene also worked as a Research Assistant at Zhejiang University from 2001 to 2004, where they conducted experiments on bio-signals collection. Xiaoling's work experience began with an internship at Fourth People's Hospital in 2000.
Throughout their career, Xiaoling has demonstrated expertise in system integration, next-generation sequencing technology, process automation, electrochemistry, and scientific research.
Xiaoling Charlene Yang's education history begins in 1996 when they enrolled at Taishan Medical College. Xiaoling Charlene pursued a Bachelor of Medicine degree with a specialization in Medical Images, completing their studies in 2001.
Afterward, Xiaoling joined Zhejiang University in 2001, where they pursued a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering. Their studies in this field lasted until 2004.
Subsequently, Xiaoling continued their academic journey at The University of Georgia from 2004 to 2008. During this period, they pursued and completed their PhD in Biological and Agricultural Engineering.
