Executive Editor, Quartz at Work at Quartz

Francesca Donner is the current Executive Editor of Quartz at Work. Francesca has held previous positions as Director & Editor of Women & Gender at The New York Times, Editor at Forbes, and Strategy Editor at The Wall Street Journal.

Donner launched ForbesWoman in 2008, a digital vertical and magazine aimed at the issues and lives of professional and executive women. In 2011, they joined The Wall Street Journal as Strategy Editor and was responsible for mapping out the digital future for the newsroom. Francesca also worked on the development and launch of WSJ's mobile news app, What's News. In response to WSJ's push into global markets, they conceived and launched a news vertical targeting expats.

In their role as Executive Editor of Quartz at Work, Donner focuses on stories about the changing nature of work and workplace culture.

Francesca Donner received their MA in Journalism from Stanford University and their BA in English & American Literature from Brown University, magna cum laude. Francesca also studied at Wycombe Abbey, Brown University, and Brown University.

Their manager is Katherine Bell, Editor in Chief. They are on a team with Ashley Webster - Audience Editor, Ciku Kimeria - Quartz Africa Editor, and Camille Squires - Reporter.
