Rick Harold has a long and successful career in the technology industry. Rick began their career in 1980 as a Midshipmen in the US Navy NROTC program at Northwestern University. In 1983, they became a Software Developer CO-OP at IBM. In 1986, they moved to Northrop Grumman as a Sr. Engineer. In 1987, they co-founded InstallShield Software Corporation and grew the company to 300 employees before selling it for $83 million to Macrovision after 20 years. In 2008, they co-founded LifeShadow, LLC and developed DevOps centered microservice architecture solutions on Amazon AWS/Google Cloud/Azure with NodeJS, Python & C++. In 2017, they co-founded AhoyThere LLC and released a consumer/business electronic device similar to Amazon Echo/Google Home devices. In 2021, they joined QuayChain as CTO, where they are responsible for defining/implementing technical architecture for edge computing, 5G/LTE, and microservice cloud system to support the digital supply chain. Rick is also designing and managing advanced real-time computer vision in the field with edge-based devices leveraging machine learning in combination with cloud computing. Additionally, they are a Board Member at LeewayHertz - AI/Blockchain Development Company, where they are an advisor for technical & product direction and challenges.

Rick Harold received their Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Northwestern University's Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department from 1980 to 1985. Rick then went on to earn their Master's degree in Computer Science, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence/Natural Language Processing (NLP), from Northwestern University from 1986 to 1988.
