Emily Zak has been working in the fashion industry since 2001. Emily began their career at Condé Nast as an Editorial Associate for Vanity Fair in New York. In 2005, they moved to the role of Executive Retail Editor for Vogue, where they managed editorial and commercial brand relationships. In 2010, they were promoted to Executive Fashion Director for Vogue Condé Nast Britain. From 2013 to 2018, they were the Executive Fashion Director for NET-A-PORTER, where they were part of the founding team for the company's e-commerce editorial publication. In 2018, they moved to Condé Nast as the Global Head of Fashion Shows for Vogue, where they optimized audience engagement across 26 digital Vogue sites. In 2020, they started their own Innovation Consultancy, focusing on start-up strategy and legacy brands in the luxury space. In 2021, they began working in Strategic Partnerships for BODS and Seer, both AI fit tech powered technology companies. Emily is also working in Global Brand Strategy for Queen of Raw, a blockchain-powered enterprise solution for textile waste.
Emily Zak has a diverse educational background. In 2003-2004, they earned an MA With Distinction from Goldsmiths College, U. of London, where they studied Ubiquitous Computing, Wearable Technology, and Media. Prior to that, they earned a BFA from Cornish College of the Arts in 1996-1998, where they studied Performance and Fine Art. Before that, they attended Rhode Island School of Design from 1995-1996, where they studied Fine Art and Studio Art.
