Fatma Ghailan

Fatma Ghailan has a diverse work experience in various roles related to adult education and ESL teaching. Fatma has worked as the Director of Community Learning at Queens Library since September 2021. Prior to that, they served as the Assistant Director of Adult Learning at Queens Library from October 2018 to September 2021. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing the Adult Learning Centers and Young Adult Literacy Services, managing budgets, and ensuring high-quality instruction in various subjects.

Before joining Queens Library, Fatma worked as an Adjunct Faculty at Hunter College and Westchester Community College, teaching and mentoring students. Fatma also held the position of Adult Learning Centers Hub Manager at The New York Public Library from October 2016 to September 2018.

Fatma also received a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Marketing from Université Rennes 2 and a one-semester certificate in Translation from Ecole Fahd de Traduction.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Fatma Ghailan has obtained several certifications, including SCBA/Interior Firefighting Operations - FF1 and Exterior Firefighting Operations / HAZMAT from NYS TASK FORCE-2 OFFICE OF FIRE PREV & CONTROL in 2021. Fatma also completed courses such as "Developing an Online Teaching Program" from TESOL International Association in 2020 and "Family Development Credential Program for Leaders" from The Graduate Center, City University of New York in the same year.
