Kelly Blair-Matuk

Director, Research Compliance, Training And Ethics at Queen's University

Kelly Blair-Matuk has a diverse work experience. Kelly started their career in 1991 at Fort Henry National Historic Site as a Military Interpreter and Administration. From 1998 to 2001, they founded and taught at DalDance. In 2002, they became a Research Associate at Queen's University and later served as a Course Coordinator and Lecturer from 2003 to 2007. In 2007, they briefly worked as a Test-Bank Question Writer at Pearson Benjamin Cummings. From 2008 to 2016, they were the Coordinator of Research Activities and Communications at Queen's University, where they also held the role of Co-Managing Editor of (e)AFFECT Research Magazine from 2012 to 2017. In 2017, they became the Associate Director of the Vice-Principal (Research) Portfolio at Queen's University and currently holds the position of Director, Research Compliance, Training and Ethics.

Kelly Blair-Matuk has an extensive education history. Kelly received their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Psychology/Neuroscience from Dalhousie University, completing their studies from 1997 to 2003. Before that, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Biology from Queen's University, where they studied from 1995 to 1997. Kelly also holds a Bachelor of Science Honours (BScH) in Biology from Queen's University, which they earned from 1991 to 1995.

In addition to their academic degrees, Kelly has pursued further professional development and certifications. Kelly completed the Foundational Leadership Program at Queen's University in 2020-2021. Kelly also obtained a Workplace Mental Health Leadership Certificate from Queen's University in 2019. Kelly has participated in several short-term programs, including Strategic Planning and Leading Change from the Smith School of Business at Queen's University in 2017 and the University Management Course at the Centre for Higher Education Research and Development (CHERD) at the University of Manitoba in 2015.

Furthermore, Kelly has obtained various certifications related to their field. These include certifications in areas such as Health Canada Division 5 - Drugs For Clinical Trials Involving Human Subject, Clinical Research Coordinators (CRC), Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR), Foundations of Privacy in Research, The Biomedical Research Ethics Tutorial, and Canada GCP. Kelly also completed a Course on Research Ethics (TCPS 2: CORE) and received certifications in Microsoft Planner Essential Training and SharePoint 2019 Essential Training: The Basics.
