Sophia Bouris has a diverse and extensive work experience. Sophia is currently the Director of Strategic Communications and Events (Advancement) at Queen's University, a role they began in December 2021. Previously, Sophia owned their own event planning company called My Events since 2008. Sophia has also worked at Algonquin College in various roles, including Professor, Manager of Events - Office of the President, Manager of Special Events, Culture and Communications, and Marketing & AC Hub Coordinator. Sophia also had a professional development contract with Polytechnics Canada as their Polytechniques Conference Coordinator. Earlier in their career, they worked as an Event Assistant for the CN Canadian Women's Open at Paragon Marketing Solutions and as the Event & Sponsorship Coordinator for the Stroke Survivor Association of Ottawa.
Sophia Bouris completed their Master of Arts in Leadership at Royal Roads University from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, they obtained a Graduate Certificate in Event Management from Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology. Sophia also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English & Theatre from the University of Toronto Mississauga.
