Alexander O'Connor

Alexander O'Connor is an experienced educator currently serving as the Head of Learning Area - Mathematics at Sunshine Coast Grammar School since July 2023. O'Connor has held multiple roles at the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority, starting in November 2020, including Subject Matter Expert for General Mathematics/Mathematical Methods, Lead Confirmer, Endorser, and Lead External Exam Marker for Specialist Mathematics. Previous positions include Curriculum Leader for Mathematics at Mt Maria College from December 2021 to July 2023, and Math and Science Teacher at Pacific Lutheran College, where O'Connor also held the role of Head of Senior Mathematics. Earlier teaching experiences include mathematics positions at St Joseph's Nudgee College and St Eugene College. O'Connor's academic credentials include a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of the Sunshine Coast and Bachelor’s degrees in Secondary Education and Teaching, as well as Physics and Mathematics from Griffith University.
