Marcel B.

Marcel B. has a diverse work experience history. Marcel started their career as a Teacher and eLearning developer at Alyangula Area School in 2006 and held the role until 2010. During this time, Marcel was also a Professional Learning Community Leader and conducted research and development in online learning communities and educational computer games.

In 2010, Marcel joined the Department of Environment and Resource Management as a Senior Environmental Officer and worked there until 2012.

Afterwards, Marcel moved on to work at the Queensland Museum as a Senior Project Officer from 2012 to 2012. Here, they focused on designing and developing educational resources to promote science education and enhance museum learning experiences.

In 2013, Marcel joined the Department of Education and Training (Queensland) and held various roles including Senior Project Officer, Assistant Manager (Curriculum into the Classroom - Science), Manager (Curriculum into the Classroom - Technologies), and finally, Principal Education Officer. During their time at the department, Marcel was responsible for managing the implementation of the Technologies learning area in over 600 schools, as well as curriculum and resource development, policy advice, and professional development.

In 2020, Marcel joined the IMPACT Centre (Department of Education, Qld) as a Professional Learning Leader and eLearning provider. Marcel'sresponsibilities included designing and delivering professional learning across STEM, managing a Professional Learning Network, and facilitating collaboration and sharing of teaching resources.

Currently, Marcel is working as a Principal Project Officer at the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) since 2023.

Marcel B. holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree from the University of Tasmania. In 1999, they completed a Graduate Diploma of Education, specializing in Mathematics and Science, from the University of Canberra.
