Richard Plowes

Richard Plowes is a seasoned project manager with extensive experience in the engineering and construction sectors, particularly in water infrastructure, mining, and energy projects. Currently, Richard leads the Borumba Pumped Hydro Energy Storage Project at Queensland Hydro, overseeing geotechnical investigations and engineering teams. Previously, Richard held roles at Powerlink Queensland, focusing on health and safety management systems, and at CMOC-Northparkes Mines, where responsibilities included project portfolio management and leadership in underground mining projects. Richard's background also includes significant positions at Rio Tinto and URS Corporation, where project management encompassed tailings facilities, water infrastructure, and construction quality assurance. Richard holds a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and is pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Tailings Management from The University of Western Australia.
