Jiadong Gong

Jiadong Gong has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of materials engineering and computational simulation. Jiadong began their career in 2005 as a Research Associate at Tsinghua University, where they focused on computational materials science. Jiadong then joined Northwestern University in 2008 as a Research Associate, where they worked on the computational simulation and design of advanced material systems.

In 2012, Gong joined QuesTek Innovations LLC as a Senior Materials Design Engineer. Jiadong was a founding team member of QuesTek II, where they played a crucial role in designing, developing, and commercializing novel materials using materials genomic big data and advanced computational power. Jiadong was responsible for inventing a series of novel materials, including single crystal nickel superalloys, hardened stainless steels, and high temperature refractory alloys.

Over the years at QuesTek, Gong took on various roles and responsibilities. Jiadong became the Technical Fellow and Manager of Modeling & Software Development in 2018, leading the team in developing software and digital technology programs. In 2017, they also assumed the role of Technical Fellow and Program Manager, where they provided technical leadership to the engineering team and managed key programs with government agencies and commercial clients. Jiadong also played a significant role in expanding QuesTek's international business development in Asia by establishing the QuesTek Japan joint venture.

Gong's most recent position at QuesTek is Chief Technology Officer, which they began in 2022. In this role, they head QuesTek's Digital Technology and Software Development, combining cloud-native software workflows and scalable technology architectures into a digital materials engineering platform. Jiadong is responsible for the origination and management of all software and digital technology programs, contributing to the company's sustainable, profitable growth, and proprietary competitive advantage.

Jiadong Gong attended Tsinghua University from 2002 to an unknown end year, where they earned a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering. Jiadong then went on to Northwestern University to pursue a Ph.D. in Materials Science & Engineering; Materials Design, with an unknown start and end year. Eventually, they also attended Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management to study Management for Scientists and Engineers, without specifying the start and end year of their enrollment.
