Chung Hua

CTO & Co-Founder at quester

Chung Hua has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of technology and architecture. They started their career as a Software Architect Development Lead at Monitise in 2014. Later, they joined Transport for London as a Lead Solutions Architect for the FftFS program, where they played a crucial role in defining architecture and infrastructure for mobile services on Azure.

In 2016, Chung Hua worked as a Solutions/Integration Architect at Sainsbury's, followed by a Solutions Architect role at Royal Mail in 2017. At Sky, they served as a Platform Architect, responsible for designing and delivering the Sky DTA Big Data Platform on GCP. This involved migrating source systems, data warehouses, and applications from on-prem to GCP.

From 2019 to 2020, Chung Hua joined GFT Group as a Big Data Cloud Architect. They then joined Vodafone as a Lead Cloud Architect in 2020. In the same year, they also worked as a CTO at Doxa Group.

Currently, Chung Hua holds the position of CTO & Co-Founder at Quester, starting from 2021. Prior to this, since 2006, they had been working as a Big Data & Enterprise Cloud Architect at Hoodox. In this role, they provided consultancy and solutions related to big data and cloud to various clients, including Vodafone, Sky, HSBC, Unilever, Sainsbury, Google, and TfL. They were involved in projects like the Vodafone Dynamo program, aimed at consolidating Vodafone's big data technologies stacks.

Chung Hua's education history begins in 1992, where they enrolled at Queen Mary University of London for a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Maths & Computing. This program in Mathematics and Computer Science lasted for three years, and Chung Hua completed it in 1995.

Subsequently, in 1995, Chung Hua pursued further studies at Queen Mary University of London and earned a Master of Science in Advanced Methods in Computer Science, specializing in Mathematics and Computer Science. This program lasted for one year, and Chung Hua completed it in 1996.

Additionally, Chung Hua obtained several certifications in recent years. In March 2019, they became a Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect through the Google Cloud institution. In July 2019, they earned the Google Cloud Certified Professional Data Engineer certification from Google. Finally, in November 2019, they obtained the AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Overall, Chung Hua's education journey includes a Bachelor's degree in Maths & Computing and a Master's degree in Advanced Methods in Computer Science, both from Queen Mary University of London. They have also obtained certifications in cloud architecture and data engineering from Google and solutions architecture from AWS.
