Jon Bjarnason

Associate Director, System Integration at QuidelOrtho

Jon Bjarnason has a solid background in engineering and R&D. Jon started their career at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, where they worked on projects related to THz Imaging, gas spectroscopy, and backend electronics. In 2008, they joined Autogenomics, Inc. as a Senior Electrical Engineer, where they designed hardware and software for fluorescence imaging systems and thermocycling units. In 2016, they became an Associate Director at Quidel Inc., where they played a crucial role in the design and development of the Savanna PCR instrument. Jon is currently working at Arete Biosciences as an R&D Manager.

Jon Bjarnason holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC Santa Barbara, which they completed between 2004 and 2007. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) in Electrical Engineering from UCLA, where they studied from 2002 to 2004.
