Jelmer Renema is an accomplished physicist with extensive experience in integrated photonics and quantum technology. Currently serving as Chief Scientist and Chief Technology Officer at QuiX Quantum since January 2019, Jelmer also holds the position of Assistant Professor at Universiteit Twente. Previous roles include Junior Research Fellow at The Queen's College, Oxford, and Rubicon Fellow at the University of Oxford, where contributions focused on Gaussian boson sampling and single photon detection. Jelmer's academic career began with a PhD at Leiden University, complemented by postdoctoral research on superconducting single photon detectors. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Physics and an MSc Cum Laude in Physics from Leiden University. Leadership experience includes serving as Chairman of Stichting Rino, a student-run physics outreach initiative.
