Layla Velazquez has extensive experience in phlebotomy and clinical laboratory settings. Currently serving as a Lead Phlebotomist at Instalab since February 2023, Layla also works as a Mobile Phlebotomist with Qvin, traveling throughout the Bay Area to perform venipuncture blood collection for clinical trial participants. Previous roles include Clinical Lab Associate at Color, where Layla processed patient nasal swabs in a high throughput laboratory, and Certified Phlebotomy Technician at Kindred Healthcare, responsible for in-patient phlebotomy procedures. Layla's career began as a Laboratory Assistant at Eurofins Transplant Genomics, managing pre-analytic phases for COVID-19 testing, and includes a decade-long tenure as a K-8 English Teacher at Paterson Public Schools. Layla holds a Certificate of Achievement in Clinical Laboratory Science from the Institute for Business and Technology and a Bachelor of Arts from Montclair State University.
