Lori Lockyer

Executive Dean, Faculty of Creative Industries, Education & Social Justice at QUT

Professor Lori Lockyer joined QUT from the University of Technology Sydney, where she was been Dean of the Graduate Research School and Professor of the Faculty of Arts and Social Science since 2016. She has a PhD from the University of Wollongong and she has been recognised with numerous Australian and international awards. Her recognition includes appointment to several key committees including the Prime Minister's Science, Engineering and Innovation Council, Transforming Learning and the Transmission of Knowledge Expert Working Group, the ARC College of Experts and ERA Research Evaluation Committees 2015 and 2018. An internationally recognised expert in the fields of education and educational technology, Lori has more than two decades experience within complex academic and research organisations, both in Australia and overseas. Lori’s experience includes faculty-based and university-wide leadership roles at three Australian universities. Prior to UTS, she was Head of the School of Education at Macquarie University, and before that held Associate Dean of the Faculty of Education and other senior leadership roles at the University of Wollongong. Lori’s experience includes curriculum development, research leadership, collaborative research, and research mentoring. Her research has achieved practical impact through the design and implementation of innovative, award-winning learning environments and the professional development of educators internationally and across sectors.
