Joni Jantunen

Joni Jantunen has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several companies. Joni started their career in 1995, holding trainee positions during their M.Sc. studies. Joni then worked at the Nokia Research Center from 2000 to 2011, where they held roles as a research engineer, member of research staff, and senior researcher, contributing to the development of Wireless Memory technology.

In 2011, Joni joined Nokia Technologies as a principal researcher, working on the Wireless Memory technology as a technical lead and architect. Joni also took on project management responsibilities and engaged with internal and external stakeholders.

From 2014 to 2015, Joni served as a principal engineer and R&D team leader at Nokia Technologies. Their role involved coordinating the development of wireless positioning technology, including the creation of evaluation kits and demonstrators for customers.

In 2015, Joni became a principal engineer in the Digital Health division of Nokia Technologies, specializing in wearable devices and systems for digital health applications. Joni continued this role until 2017 when they transitioned to become a principal engineer for the System and HW Engineering team, leading the development of wearable devices and systems for digital health applications yet again.

In 2018, Joni began working at Quuppa as a product development manager, responsible for the company's product development and production. Joni played a crucial role in the launch of a new product generation. Later, they became the director of product development and, finally, the director of product management in 2022.

Joni Jantunen completed their M.Sc. in Electronics and Telecommunication from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan in 2001. Joni continued their education at Aalto University and earned their D.Sc. in Radio Engineering in 2015.
